Cold Play

So I'm in a bit of trouble.

I spent all of Sunday thinking I'd forgotten something important, but I couldn't remember what. Until I got a text from my best friend a few days later saying "Missed anyone's birthday recently?"

I rang him to talk - I felt terrible. He put me in my place and gloated a bit, but I think I'm forgiven so everything's not lost.

I want to get him something nice anyway. And that's the hardest part - I can't think of anything cool but not entirely useless.

Any thoughts?
I've seen some really funky clocks...

Yeah, OK, alright, sorry for forgetting several birthdays.
Hutch - you forgot mine so that's a bit rich surely...

I've got a calendar for just birthdays (but haven't got round to filling it in yet).
Anyway, that's what Facebook is for.

In any case, we've lost track of the point here - have you any cool suggestions for what I could get my mate?

(Don't know who suggested getting him a pumice stone - I doubt his gf reads this?)

Also no-one has commented on the title of the post yet... my friends often tell me my readers are cleverer than the average - c'mon guys...

So by saying 'im in a bit of trouble' ligitimises the use of the title Cold Play? hmmm... im probably missing the point.

*Try adding strawberrys to a mohito to make a sweet and refreshing drink*

I think "Trouble" "talk" "everything's not lost" "hardest part" "in my place" and "clocks" were the references to Cold Play. I may've missed some, not listened to them for a while!!
Not sure about the present though...

The reason I missed the reference is I despise Coldplay...
And I know just the thing he needs.
A Big Gay Ian.

One of my friends just got me a creepy carnival-style fortune teller. The site is down at the min but its from thedoghouse.co.uk and its called 'Zoltar Fortune Teller'. It's just like a magic 8 ball but it speaks and says weird stuff..and the music creeps me out..the number of nightmares I've had with it turning on by itself..
And Suman, good one telling people you're on facebook - how many weirdo friend requests have you got already? lol

You'd have a hard time forgetting mine, seeing as its the same day and all. If you did forget, i would be truely offended.

As for what to get him- no idea- unless its the guy i met on our birthday- in which case it would be a ball and chain.

I know what i'd like, and that would be money. Or a hover bike.

Well... er... thanks for those interesting suggestions...

I think I might get him a helicopter from firebox.com.

Rich, did you get your belated/early present in the post? Saw it and thought of you...

Anyway, now that I'm back, several posts coming up about my trip to a medical conference in Scotland...
